Bruno Fernandes will be suspended for Manchester United’s second leg of their Europa League quarter-final against Sevilla on April 20 after receiving a booking in the first leg at Old Trafford on Thursday.

The Manchester side were held to a 2-2 draw after a first-half brace from Marcel Sabitzer was cancelled out by two late own goals from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire giving the Spanish side hope to cling on to in the second leg next week.

Fernandes however will be unavailable for that game at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán after picking up a controversial booking for a handball in the first-half of the game.

United also lost centre-back duo Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez who were both substituted with injuries.

Martinez, who has made 44 appearances this season since joining the club from Ajax last summer, had to be helped off by Sevilla players and was seen in emotional distress on the sidelines.

Marcus Rashford, who has scored 28 goals in 47 games this campaign, missed the game with a groin injury that he sustained during the 2-0 victory over Everton last Saturday.

United are next in action against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.
